PHOENIX, AZ (July 18, 2023) – Evie Networks, a leading Australian electric vehicle fast-charging company, and TCRT, a fire-retardant ballistic rubber and product manufacturer, have selected Phoenix, Arizona as the site of their North American headquarters. Evie Networks will establish electric vehicle charging stations across Arizona and expects to have its first U.S. sites up and running within 18 months. The U.S. market expansion will allow both companies to expand their reach and create new jobs over time.

TEMPE, AZ (July 11, 2023) – Arizona State University (ASU) and Applied Materials, Inc. today announced an alliance, aided by the Arizona Commerce Authority, that brings more than $270 million to create a world-class shared research, development and prototyping facility, the Materials-to-Fab (MTF) Center, in the university’s MacroTechnology Works building at ASU Research Park. The MTF Center will be designed to accelerate the transfer of innovations from ideation to fab prototype and is expected to be operational within two years.

PHOENIX, AZ (June 29, 2023) – With advanced manufacturing jobs plentiful, Governor Hobbs announced today two new workforce partnerships to provide advanced skills training in rural Arizona. The new training programs, known as Future48 Workforce Accelerators, will launch in Kingman and Yuma, the first of up to six new Future48 Workforce Accelerators to be overseen by the Arizona Commerce Authority in coordination with higher education and industry partners.

PHOENIX, AZ (June 7, 2023) – Arizona today was awarded a prestigious “Gold Shovel” award from Area Development Magazine in the 6-10 million population category, marking the state’s third consecutive gold shovel. Considering economic development projects that were announced, commenced construction or operations in 2022, the Shovel Awards recognize states that “garnered large job-creating and investment projects through innovative policies, infrastructure improvements, and other processes that attracted new employers as well as investments in expanded facilities.”

CASA GRANDE, AZ (February 20, 2023) — Ecobat, the global leader in battery recycling, is building its third lithium-ion battery recycling facility and first in North America. The new facility in Casa Grande, Arizona will initially produce 10,000 estimated tons of recycled material per year, with plans to expand capacity to satisfy the increasing need to recycle lithium-ion batteries. The Casa Grande facility will create over 60 new jobs over time. Start-up is expected in the third quarter of this year.

PIMA, AZ (February 23, 2023) — Optimal Health Systems (OHS), a leading holistic health company and whole food supplement manufacturer, announced it has expanded its supplement manufacturing operations in Pima, Arizona. The 4,500-square-foot formulation, production and marketing facility will increase whole food vitamins and supplement production while creating over 20 new jobs, doubling the company’s headcount to more than 40 employees. 

PEORIA, AZ (February 15, 2023) — HyRel Technologies, a global provider of quick turn semiconductor modification solutions, announced it has commenced operations of its manufacturing facility in Peoria, Arizona, creating 50 new jobs. Representing a $15 million investment, the custom 20,000-square-foot facility will be geared towards touchless robotic processing systems for microelectronic components, semiconductors, tape and reel, component recovery, and NPI/contract manufacturing services. HyRel provides services to aerospace, defense, medical, industrial, commercial and OEM.
